Paul Beatty

Paul Harry Beatty, 69, a resident of Annapolis, died June 1 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore after a lengthy illness. He was born March 24, 1942, in Baltimore, raised in Bowleys Quarters, and graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School and University of Baltimore. He had previously lived in New Jersey and Severna Park for 17 years. He retired as Senior Vice President of Human Resources with Chase Bank, Xerox International in Connecticut and Warner Lambert in New Jersey. After retirement, he started a business, Beatty Appraisals. He formerly served on the board of Mercy High School, Marian House, Goodwill and the Red Cross. He was an Alumnus of the Year for the University of Baltimore. He enjoyed being with his family, working and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Lee Beatty of Annapolis; three sons, George A. Beatty (Catherine) of Chambersburg, PA, Paul E. Beatty (Karen) of Silver Spring and Brian B. Beatty (Heidi) of Severna Park; sister, Sr. Margaret Beatty, RSM of Savannah, GA; and five grandchildren, Shaun, Rachel, Samantha, Jack and Noelle. Family and friends may visit from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 at Stella Maris, 2300 Dulaney Valley Road, Timonium, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements made by Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of Mercy, The Villa, 6806 Bellona Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21212.
