KAIN, SHIRLEY "BILL", 83, of Glen Burnie passed away on May 11, 2014. Bill was born on November 21, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1956, achieving the rank of Quarter Master Third Class. Bill worked for Baltimore Gas & Electric for 25 years as a draftsman and was a youth baseball umpire at North Glen and Lake Shore. He enjoyed bowling and going to the casinos. Bill was predeceased by his devoted wife of 55 years, Josephine "Jo" Kain, his daughter, Virginia "Jenny" Pardoe, and four brothers; he is survived by his loving children, Melinda "Linda" Heath, Carolyn Margenthaler, and Michael Kain; twelve beloved grandchildren; three cherished great-grandchildren; and his dear sister, Dorothy Simms. The received visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. S.W. (at Crain Hwy) Thursday, May 15 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Friday, May 16, 12:30 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
