Benjamin Rogers Moreland, "Pop," 86, a resident of Annapolis for 61 years, died June 5 in Annapolis from cancer, following a brief illness. He was born February 28, 1928 in Lothian. A graduate of Southern High School, he was a custom home builder. In addition to spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, stain glass, and bowling. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Married in 1949, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Moreland in 2008. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Riley (Stewart) of Lothian, Patricia Potvin (John) of Annapolis, and Terri Moreland of Annapolis; brother, Everett Moreland of Lothian; sister, Betty Rae Gott of Lothian; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1300 West St., Annapolis (21401), where a funeral service also will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 9.
