Richard R. Robinson, "Capt. Robby", 76. a 34-year resident of Riva, died June 11 at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood. Born November 11, 1937 in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia to the late Clayton and Nora Robinson, he served his country in the U.S. Navy and worked for as a cabinet maker, PEPCO, Xerox, Cheshire, Videojet and Danaher. Capt. Robby could stand on his head until he was 72. He was a member of the American Legion. His hobbies included fishing, crabbing, boating, water skiing and helping his friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Katherine Robinson of Riva; two children, David (Patricia) Robinson of St. Augustine, FL, and Cathy Lynn (Jim) Dumais of Hanover, PA; step son, Christopher Walter of Riva; sister, Helen Anders of Charlestown, WV; three granddaughters, April Halverson, Vanessa Robinson and Cassie Lynn Walter; great-granddaughter, Camellia Green; and former spouse, Nancy Dutton. Friends are invited to Richard's Life Celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 18. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville.
