D. Dean Soule, a one-year resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis and formerly of York, Maine, died at home on June 19, following a lengthy illness. He was born December 28, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to his late parents Paul B. Soule and Laura Rafford Soule. A veteran, he served four years in the US Navy. Dean received a BS at Gorham State Teachers College and a MA from the University of Hartford. He worked his entire career as an educator and principal for the Middletown Connecticut School System, retiring as Principal of Woodrow Wilson Junior High School. He enjoyed golf and Bridge, and was an active member of the First Parish Church in York, Maine, serving on many committees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Mallory Heffernan. Dean is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Matthews Soule; his sons, Jason Soule (Donna) of Cody, Wyoming and Jeffrey Soule (Jean) of Durham, Connecticut; daughters, Karen Davidson (Marcus) of Cody, Wyoming and Dianne Heffernan (Edmund) of Queenstown; sister, Diane Smith of St. Paul Minnesota; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
