MEADE, SHIRLEY ANN, 70, of Annapolis, passed away June 29, 2014, of natural causes at home in Langton Green. She was born October 19, 1943, in Annapolis and retired from the Providence Center where she enjoyed crafts of all kinds. She was preceded in death by her father, D. Brooke Meade Sr., her mother, Esther I. Meade, and her companion of 40 years, Jimmy Ward. Shirley is survived by her brothers Brooke Jr., John and Robbie, and her sisters Kathy (George) Bottner, and Pat (Rick) Rowland plus numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley also leaves behind two very special people who were a tremendous part of her life. Sherri Simms and Lil Riley were more than caregivers. They were Shirley's family as well as best friends who went above and beyond the call of duty many times over. Shirley participated in the Maryland Special Olympics for several years, loved singing and dancing, eating out, shopping, the Baltimore Orioles, the many vacations with her special friend, Sherre, and above all, family and friends and visiting with her Mother. Shirley will be remembered for all the love and prayers she bestowed upon everyone as well as her singing. The family will receive visitors On Saturday July 5, 2014 from 10 AM to 12 noon at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Duke of Gloucester St, Annapolis, MD 21401, where services will be held in the Taylor Chapel at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Shirley's name to Langton Green, 3016 Arundel-On-The-Bay Road, Annapolis, MD 21403.
