DAVIN III, INDIA BELL "INDIA", 81, a resident of Edgewater, died suddenly, July 11. She was born on July 23, 1932 in Northwest Washington, DC where she resided until she moved to Annapolis, MD in 1995 and then to Edgewater in 2000. India worked as a Special Assistant for the CIA retiring in 1991 after 30 years of service. In 1991 she married Jack Joseph Davin inheriting his children. He pre-deceased her in 1999. At the time of India's death she had 10 children, 31 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her hobbies included playing bridge, china painting, traveling and volunteering. She belonged to many organizations including, New Annapolitans, US Navy Auxiliary, Red Hat Society and the International Club of Annapolis. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Zurn of St. Johns, FL and Laura Peterson of Arnold, MD; grandchildren Jason and Emily Zurn; Katherine and Alaina Peterson and great grandchildren Jack, Chance and Scarlett Zurn; her stepchildren John Davin, Diane Ihnat, Richard Davin, Paul Davin, Carol O'Connor, Michael Davin, Brian Davin, Alice Avila and their families. A memorial gathering will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD where a celebration of her life will begin at 2 p.m. followed by a reception.
