VOSBURY, ELIZABETH CATHERINE RICHTER, of Annapolis, Md. Passed away on July 15th at AAMC. Betty was born on January 7, 1926 in Appleton, Wisconsin, parents, Clarence T. and Helen Moyer Richter. She graduated from the Columbia College of Nursing, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in August, 1947 and then met and married Richard Francis Vosbury in June of 1948. They lived in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania while he finished his Mechanical Engineering degree from Lehigh University. After graduation, they moved to Detroit, Michigan and on to Dallas, Texas, Falls Church, Virginia, Baltimore, Md. and Calvert County, Md., where she firmed up her long time interest in Politics and Government. In 1961, they settled in Linstead and then, Round Bay on the Severn. From 1966 to 1974 she was a part time Office manager for the Vosbury Yacht Yard and later, Vosbury Marine Enterprises Inc. in Eastport, Annapolis. She served a term as President of the A.A. Co. League of Women Voters in early 1968. Later that year she joined the Severna Park Republican Women's Club and, in the year 2000, received the A.A. County Woman of the Year Award. Betty was also a Life member of the Anne Arundel Medical Center Auxiliary, a continuing member of the Annapolis Yacht Club and enjoyed fund raising for the benefit of the Hospice of the Chesapeake. In addition to the above, her first loves were Music and Theatre. She played the piano for song and dance at the Woods Adult Day Care Center, from its inception, as well as other Day Care and Assisted Living Facilities since 1976. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Richard Francis on June 19.1996 and one sister, Emily R. Owen on August 6, 1986. She is survived by her three Vosbury sons, Richard David and wife Joan, Bay Hills, Scott Edward and wife, Kathy, Lewes Del., John Stephen and wife, Barbara, Herald Harbor Md. and one daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Vosbury and fiance' G. William Schneck , St. Margarets. Grandchildren from Richard are, Tammy Ann Vosbury and Christopher David Vosbury, and wife April. Grandchildren from Scott are twins, Stacy A Vosbury with great grandson, Owen L. Piro, and Natalie J. Dixon and husband Kyle. with great grandsons, Brysen R. Dixon and J. Scott Dixon. She is also survived by her nieces, Mardee Ann Owen Fuller and great niece, Shannon Elizabeth Fuller of Richmond Va. and Betty Jane Owen Clark and husband Jack, Albion, Michigan. Sister in law, Anne Vosbury Lovell, and niece Paula Anne Lovell also predeceased Betty. Surviving are Peter Brian Lovell and wife Susan, Kathleen Lovell McGahan and husband Patrick, Karin Lovell Dumm and husband Tim and their families. . Friends will be received at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, Md. 21401 from 3pm - 6pm on Friday, July 18th.
