Kimberly Mary Vatis passed away at her home in Odenton, MD on July 31 at the age of 60. Kimberly was predeceased by her parents Mrs. and Mr. James McNelis. She is survived by her loving husband William Ferris of 1.5 years. They were married in Baltimore, MD on November 17, 2012. Kimberly is lovingly remembered by her son, Alexander John Vatis of Hanover, MD, her Daughter Ashleigh Anne Abutboul and Son-in-law Elan Abutboul of Ellicott City, MD, Grandchildren: Aila and Eve Abutboul, Brothers: Kevin, Greg, and Brian McNelis, and Sister: Lory Greene. Kimberly was born in San Francisco, CA on December 29, 1953. She graduated from Colonia High School (NJ) in 1972 and went on to earn a Bachelor's of the Arts Degree in Education from Glassboro State College in 1976, and a Master's Degree from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. She worked as a teacher and Integrated Literacy Specialist for the Anne Arundel County Public School System. She enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, tennis, and her greatest joy of being a mother and grandmother. The visitation will be held at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc., 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Sunday August 3, 2014 from 3 to 6 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Monday August 4, 2014 at 10:30 AM.
