I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy to both the Eney and Silva families. I am a stranger to you, but please know that we share the same grief. My 26 year old son and a young woman that he was giving a ride to, both perished at the crash site-River Rd. and 495 on June 8, 2011. It still seems unfathomable. I was so sad, when in the midst of my grief, I heard about this tragedy.

Please know that I am so very sorry, and that you are not alone in your grief. There are no words. God Bless you and your families.

My nephew attended Randolph Macon with Van. Blake brought Van to our house a couple of times to wakeboard and he was great. He ate dinner with our family and my Dad who was suffering with Alzheimers had Van's ear. Van was so thoughtful and respectful to my Dad. I am so sorry for his loss, and will pray for him and you.
