Shirley Ann Jones (Wiest) died peacefully October 11 at The Crossings at Bon Air in Richmond, VA of the ravages of dementia and Alzheimer's Disease.
As a young woman in Baltimore, Shirley was an accomplished dancer, which included her dancing at the Baltimore Hippodrome Theatre.
With her young family, the Joneses moved from Baltimore to Howard County, and summered in Sherwood Forest. Later they moved to St. Michaels where together they enjoyed crabbing and gardening. She also enjoyed exercising and reading, and was known for making the world's best crab cakes. Shirley liked nothing more than spending time with her friends and family in St. Michaels.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Blake Jones, who died in 1992; and her eldest grandson, Jeffrey Blake Lichok.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Jones Nolan and her husband Jim, and Barbara Jones Moore and her husband Jerry. She is also survived by two grandsons, Blake and Brady and their wives Tara and Kara.
Friends and family are welcome to visit between noon and 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, at 210 Melvin Ave. in Annapolis.
