Indian Land – Mrs. Betty Mac Rodgers Howie, 84, of Indian Land, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
A memorial service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, with Dr. Scott Vail and the Rev. Barry Yates officiating. The family received friends following the service.
Born in Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Howie was a daughter of the late James William Rodgers and Mary Hannah Collins Rodgers.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Mrs. Howie was an excellent cook, basket weaver and gardener. She loved the Lord and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are three sons, Mike Howie and his wife, Susan, Rusty Howie and John Howie and his wife, Elaine, all of Indian Land; her sister, Jane Osborne of Chandler, Okla.; two grandchildren, Tim Howie and his wife, Kasey, of Kershaw, and Mary Hannah Howie of Lancaster; and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Evan and Chase Howie.
Mrs. Howie was preceded in death by her precious husband of 63 years, Robert Hubert Howie.
