Born on Aug. 16, 1964, in Fort Mill, his family moved to Indian Land in 1973, where he spent most of the rest of his life. Jamie was the son of the late Bobby Ray and Gloria Adkins Broome. He was the youngest of five children and was known to them as the classic little brother. To others, he was known as "Preacher." Jamie spent his life working very hard always to help others, whether it was his family, friends or just someone who needed help. He loved racing and spent a lot of his time with the No. 53 and No. 55 cars of Warrior Racing Team. But more than working or racing, Jamie loved his family dearly and spent his time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a Christian man who loved God and his church.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Broome; daughter, Rachel Broome; stepdaughter, Cristal Hickman; stepson, Dwayne Mullis and his wife, Casey; three grandchildren, Jayden Lewis, Mason Mullis and Camden Mullis; three brothers, Bobby Ray Broome Jr. and his wife, Jesus Broome, Len Broome and his wife, Kathy Burris Broome, Tony Broome and his wife, Marie Laney Broome; a sister Melissa Broome Henke and her husband, Dennis Henke; and nieces and nephews, Chrystal, Nelson, Daisy, Jeremy, Anna, Kevin, Logan, Carson, Stacey, Joey, Kaylie, Reese, Michael, Leigh, Caleb, Laney, Dusty, Theresa, Matt, Craig, and Robert, who loved him dearly.
