Leister, John R.  
John R. Leister, 92, formerly of Harney, died Sun, June 26, at Ballenger Creek Ctr, Frederick. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Ridinger) Leister who died Dec 12, 2009. Born March 3, 1924 in Littlestown, John was the son of the late John E. & Bessie L. (Hartlaub) Leister. He served in the army during WWII where he was a Combat Infantryman and was awarded the bronze star and a purple heart where he fought in northern France, the Rhinelands and was in the first wave at Normandy. John was a self employed Huckster with his route in Baltimore. Surviving are his daughter, Marilyn Rippeon & her husband, Larry of Taneytown; his sons, Kenneth Leister & wife, Carolyn of Biloxi, MS and Michael Leister of KY; his 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a great, great granddaughter. John was predeceased by his son, David A. Leister and his brother, Fred Leister. He was a member of Harney VFW where he was the last living charter member. Memorial Mass is Wed, July 6, at 10 A.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. There is no viewing; however, the family will receive friends Wed 9:30 - 10 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name may be sent to Harney VFW @ 5801 Conover Rd., Taneytown, MD 21787 or Harney Fire Dept @ 5130 Harney Rd., Taneytown.

Levin, Alice Irene  
Alice Irene Levin passed away peacefully at Carroll Hospice Dove House on Thursday, June 23, 2016. She was born June 25, 1948 in Hagerstown, MD, and was married for 44 years to Marvin "Butch" Levin of Westminster, MD. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 1 brother-in-law, and 3 sisters-in-law. Per her request, her body was donated to science with the hope of helping others. In memory of Alice, contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD. 21157.

Diane F. Lam, 80, of Westminster, passed away on June 24, 2016 at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born April 6, 1936 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Reta (Folk) Kidd and the wife of Norman C. Lam. Diane was a member of Lebanon Chapter 108, Order of the Eastern Star, Associate Guardian of Job's Daughters, and a troop leader for Brownies and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining friends, and especially spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Norman C. Lam, her daughter, Rebecca D. Tyrrell of Parkville, MD; son, David L. Lam of Aberdeen, MD; stepson, Charles J. Lam of Winchester, VA; sister, Dawn F. Stirneman of Auburn, GA; . A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2016, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St, Hampstead, MD. A service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.elinefh.com .

Lauer, Jaye Marie  
Jaye Marie Lauer age 60, of Crestline, CA died Tuesday June 21, 2016 at Loma Linda Hospital in San Bernardino, CA. after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. She loved California and moved back in 2003 to be with her longtime boyfriend Steve Rueben. They made a life together which included their beloved dog Mr. Stewart. He received that name because Jaye's favorite performer was Rod Stewart. She loved the beach, Jaye and her best friend Bonnie Biery spent many vacations at the Outer Banks. She loved dancing and music. Jaye took Ray to see the Beatles at the D. C. Stadium in 1966 when he was 8 years old, one of his favorite memories. Jaye graduated from Maryland Medical Secretarial School with a degree in the medical field. Born July 14, 1955 in Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond E. "Buddy" Lauer, Jr. and Orpha J. Lauer. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Raymond D. Lauer and Debra L. Lauer of Griffin, Georgia and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m., where funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Union Memorial Church Cemetery in Everett, PA. Because of her love of dogs please make donations in her memory to the Humane Society or your local shelter.

On June 23, 2016, Franklin Leroy Myers, WWII Army Veteran, of Parkton, beloved husband of the late Maxine B. Myers; devoted father of Kathleen Greer (Vaughn), Linda Noel, Ronald Myers (Katharine), Gail Myers, Michael Myers (Vanessa), James Myers, Susan Baker (Russell) and Thomas Myers; dear brother of Doris Smith, Mary Ruth Bollinger, J. Luther Myers, Janet Stillman and Richard Myers; cherished grandfather of ten; treasured great-grandfather of twelve with two more on the way. Also survived by his dedicated caregiver Shirley Herbert Hilse, many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
