McComas, Lewis Weldon  
Lewis Weldon McComas, age 78, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at his home. He was born on March 8, 1937, in Carroll County, MD to the late Lewis Weldon McComas Sr. and Iras Elizabeth Jackson McComas. In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by a brother, John 'Jack' Wesley McComas. Lewis has been described by many as a 'real people person' who never knew a stranger. He loved being outdoors working on his farm and enjoyed playing golf. He was a United States Navy Veteran. Lewis is survived by his high school sweetheart, Peggy Louise Barksdale McComas, who was also Lewis' devoted caregiver; daughters: Susan Haines and husband Ronald of PA, Laurie McComas and husband William Clark of FL; son, Scott Wesley McComas of Iowa; eight grandchildren: Brandon, Kyle, Nikki, Bobbie Sue, Sarah, Becky, Tim and Megan; great grandchildren: Michaela, Leah and Levi; brother, Bruce Wayne McComas and wife Barbara of MD. It was Lewis's request to be cremated and that no formal services be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Amedysis Hospice, 1500 W. Elk Avenue, Suite 202, Elizabethton, TN 37643. Charles B. Mullins, age 73, of Frederick, MD passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born April 17, 1942 in Ellicott City, MD, he was the son of the late Stella and Drewie Mullins. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie, his wife of 56 years. He owned several businesses and was a successful real estate investor. He served on the Sykesville Town Council. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters and sons-in-law Gay and Chuck Loskarn of Sykesville, Joy and Brad Baker of Mt. Airy, and Tina and Tom Whiteside of Mt. Airy, brother Lawrence Mullins of West Virginia, grandchildren Chaz Loskarn and his wife Andrea, Chelsea Dougherty and her husband Michael, Sean Baker, Brett Baker and his wife Brittanie, Amanda Whiteside, and Brittany Whiteside, great grandchildren Wyatt Baker and Quinn Loskarn, and dear friends Howard Ferguson and Lola Schoonmaker. He was predeceased by his siblings, Pearl St. Clair, Georgia Bond, and Ralph Mullins, and by his grandson Jesse R. Loskarn. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dave Coakley of Linganore UMC officiating. Interment in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carroll County Humane Society, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.
