Harden, Laraine E.  
Laraine E. Harden, 71, of Manchester, passed away peacefully Thursday April 16, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Westminster, MD. Born June 22, 1943 in Baltimore County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Charles and Emily Tyre Phelps. She was the wife of the late John M. Harden. Prior to retirement, she had worked as an administrative assistant with MBNA. Mum Mum enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She also loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Surviving are her son, Lester W. Pruitt, III of Manchester, MD; her daughter, Lisa A. Spartin of Wilmington, DE; two brothers, Joseph Phelps of Westminster, MD, Kenneth Phelps of Catonsville, MD; two sisters, Janet Hood of Catonsville, MD, Ava Bonebrake of West Friendship, MD; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and 10 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her three stepchildren and their families: Cindy Dryden, Denise Leitner and John Harden. There will be a reception for her family to celebrate her life on Saturday May 2, 2015 at a family member's home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Pitties and Purrs Rescue Inc. in care of Academy Animal Hospital, 5915 Belair Road, Baltimore, MD 21206. Arrangements are by Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead.

Harper, Richard "Jack"  
Richard "Jack" Harper of Denton, MD died on April, 16, 2015 at University Of Maryland Eastern Shore Medical Center at Easton, MD. He was 83. Born on February 24, 1932, the son of the late Lannie Grover Harper and Carrie Smith Harper, he grew up in the Manchester, MD area on the family farm. Jack spent 30 plus years in construction in the Greater Baltimore Washington area. He was married to his wife of 59 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Blizzard Harper. Jack was a simple country loving man who enjoyed his family and gardening. In addition to his wife, Dottie, Jack is survived by his son James Richard and Linda Harper of FL; daughter Carol Clark of Chester, MD; son in law George Bircher of Westminster, MD; and brother Roy Harper of Manchester, MD. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Ann Bircher in 2014 and 8 siblings. Services will be held privately at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.fhnfuneralhome.com

Hiltner, Carliss Aileen  
On April 15, 2015, Carliss Aileen Hiltner (nee Ridgely), 90; she was preceded in death by her Husband Millard F. Hiltner, Jr.; parents Leroy and Blanche Ridgely; and sisters Anna Tyler, Elinor Milligan, and Marjorie Lloyd; she is survived by her daughter Eileen Mortimer (Warren) and son Don H. Hiltner (Debbie); her grandchildren Karen (Chuck), Linda (Keith), Christy, and Kelly; and her great grandchildren CJ, Colleen, Anthony, Chi Chi, and Amaka. Family and Friends are invited to call at the Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc. 1630 Edmondson Ave. Catonsville, MD 21228 on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, 10:00a.m. At Salem united Methodist Church, 7509 Windsor Mill Rd. Hunter, Josephine  
Josephine Pyle Hunter, 89, of Taneytown, Maryland died peacefully Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born April 2, 1926 in Americus, GA, she was the daughter of the late David A. Pyle, Sr. and Mary Jordan Pyle. She was the loving wife of the late Richard L. Hunter, who passed October 13, 2001. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard E. and Barbara L. Hunter, and grandson, Richard L. Hunter, all of Taneytown; granddaughter, Angela J. Layman and family of Hanover, PA; brother, David A. Pyle, Jr. and wife Lois Pyle, of Manchester; sister, Patricia A. Recker of Plains, Ga; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD, 21157. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
