Neudecker, Joanne Ruth  
Joanne Ruth Neudecker, 67, of Westminster died Monday, July 20, 2015 at Genesis Health Care in Towson. Born May 25, 1948 in Westminster she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Emma Roose Noel. She was the loving wife of Floyd Neudecker whom she married in 1971. She was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1966. She was employed as a Sewing Machine Operator for 20 years at West Knit Corporation, and she retired from EZ Industries- Easy Record after 23 years of employment. She loved her dog, "Little Boy". She enjoyed watching Law and Order, eating, going to flee markets, and tractor/car shows. She was a member of the former Westminster Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, and a member at Westminster Church of the Brethren. Surviving in addition to her husband is son Spencer Neudecker of Westminster; and brother Gary Lee Noel of Westminster. She was predeceased by brother James Robert Noel, Jr. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. Art Monroe, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery. Peterson, Virginia  
Virginia Virl Peterson, 90, of Frederick, MD, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015. She was born December 30, 1924 in Spindale, NC, daughter of the late Rev. Walter Adin and Sara Emma (Padgett) Blanton. She grew up in Shelby, NC and attended Crossnore Academy. During WWII, Ginny worked in Baltimore for Westinghouse assembling radio headsets for B52 bombers. After the war, she met and soon married Mervin (Pete) Peterson on March 21, 1952. They lived in Baltimore and Glen Arm, MD. Following Pete's death in 2005, Ginny moved to the Country Meadows Retirement Community in Frederick, MD. She was a member of the Arnolia United Methodist Church and the Parkville American Legion. Beloved wife and mother, Ginny is survived by her children, Gary Peterson and wife Jean of Frederick, Virginia (Ginny) Murray of Hanover, PA, as well as four grandchildren, Brooke Peterson, Erik Peterson, Angelo Ricardo, Mathew Murray, and great grandsons Angelo Ricardo Jr. and Jesse Hoopes, sister-in-law, Doris Stout and husband Jim, many nieces, nephews, their families and numerous friends. As the youngest of nine Blanton children, she was predeceased by sisters, Lillian Bailey, Kathleen Moore, Bertha Childress, Ebba Marie Masimore and brothers, Charles, Lewis, Boyd and Rev. Lawrence Blanton. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The funeral service will be held 10am on Monday, August 3rd at the funeral home. Interment will be in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium, Maryland. Pliszak, Richard K.  
Richard K. Pliszak, age 53, of Mt. Airy, MD, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was born August 11, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York, the Loving son of Ronny Wilczynski Pliszak of Patchogue, NY. and the late Walerian Pliszak. He was a dedicated and respected employee of ABC News for 31 years. He started his career in New York City with the Political Unit. He has been in the Washington Bureau since 1994. His contributions to the company were immeasurable. He had a great mutual respect for all of his colleagues & coworkers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the beloved husband of Irene Egana Pliszak of Mt. Airy. He was the proud and devoted father of Kevin Alexander, Christopher James, and Amanda Helen. He is the dear brother of Ronald Pliszak and wife Catherine of Patchogue, NY, and of Steven Pliszak and wife Heather of Patchogue, NY. Adored by all of his six sister-in-laws Christine, Elaine, Louise, Valerie, Marjorie, and Stephanie and loving uncle to 17 nieces and nephews. Potter, Louis E.  
Louis Earnest Potter, 93, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his home. Born on January 26, 1922 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William Henry and Christina Eva (Dolle) Potter. He was the husband of Rose Marie (Middlecoff) Potter, his wife of 72 years. He was a graduate of Catonsville high School, class of 1940. He earned his B.S. Degree in 1959 from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Louis was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from September 1943 to December 1945 as a radio technician. He was an Electrical Engineer at RCA in New Jersey and Lancaster PA, retiring in 1982. Since relocating to Taylorsville in 1994 he has been in fellowship with Calvary Baptist Church. He was a very practical man with wide interests, delighting in nature and in growing all kinds of flowers, vegetables and trees, all with great success. He also enjoyed the challenges of fixing all sorts of machinery, engines, motors, radios, clocks and watches, and earned the reputation of being able to fix anything. Music was another joy in his life, especially Gospel music. Until recently he sang with his heart to the glory of God. The loss of his singing voice was a big disappointment to him. Surviving him in addition to his wife are daughters Mary Louise Weller of Kingston Beach Tasmania, Australia, Barbara Lee Baldwin of Taneytown, Rose Marie Nelson of Mt. Holly, NJ and Carol Christine Parker of Taylorsville; also 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his five older brothers and his older sister. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist church, 3200 Ridge Rd., Westminster, with Pastor Tim Leaman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church before the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. Rumney, Lynn Marie  
Lynn Marie Rumney, 45, of Hanover PA passed away suddenly on Friday, July 24, 2015. Born January 13, 1970 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Linda Levering, (nee Hetzel) of Hanover, PA and the late David Levering. She was the wife of Robert M. Rumney, her husband of 15 years. She was a parts delivery driver for Timonium Auto Parts (NAPA), and enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving in addition to her husband and mother is her daughter, Makaila Rumney of Hanover, PA; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Pearl Fisher of Westminster. She was predeceased by her sister Sherry Levering. The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. Sanders, James  
James Arlington Sanders of Hanover, PA died on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born on June 26, 1949 in Rochester, NY, son of the late Edward Joseph and Mary Etta (Durbin) Sanders. He served in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam and received several commendations and a Purple Heart. Upon discharge from the Marines, Jim worked in a variety of industries until forming a real estate title search business with his wife Margaret in York, PA. Jim participated in a variety of living history groups, interpreting many different time periods. He acted in a long list of films produced for Public Television. He welcomed the opportunity to share his love of history with local school districts and various community organizations. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 10 years Margaret Ann Sanders of York, PA Jim is survived by his step-daughters: Margaret Lowe of Hanover, PA, Catherine Andersen and her husband Michael of Milwaukee, WI, and Juliette Lowe of San Bernardino, CA; sisters: Sharon Seifert and her husband Richard of Milton, DE and Elizabeth Darnell and her husband Jerry of Riverdale, MD; nieces: Krista Seifert and Angela Darnell; nephews: Eric Seifert and Charles Darnell; great nephews Regan and Divin Andersen. Interment will be at 1 PM, Friday, July 31, 2015 in the family plot at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD. Friends may visit with family at O'Lordans Irish Pub in Westminster, MD from 2:00-4:00 PM. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE. Sherman, Sarah Jane  
Sarah Jane Sherman, 28, of Manchester died suddenly July 26, 2015 in Hampstead. Born July 26, 1987 in Baltimore she was the daughter of Deborah Boog- Sherman of Manchester and the late W. Lee Sherman Jr. She was the granddaughter of the late Harry and LaRue Boog Jr. and Willard and Mary Sherman. Sarah graduated from the Gateway School in 2006. She was trained for a veterinarian assistant at Carroll Community College. She was a member of AA. She loved animals, nature and loved to laugh. Surviving in addition to her mother is a daughter, Allie Jane Sherman-Unglesbee of Hampstead, sisters Beth Ann Sherman of Hampstead and Laura Lee Bumstead of Westminster and brother-in-law, Sean Bumstead nephew Emmet F. Bumstead. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday August 2, 2015 at 3pm from the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Family will receive friends from 2-3pm. Skelley, Ruth  
Ruth LaVere Skelley, age 96, of Westminster, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster. Born December 18, 1918 in Hamilton, she was the daughter of the late Harry Claus Heineman and Ida Virginia Thankersley Heineman. She was the wife of the late William Howard Skelley, Sr., who died in 1986. She was a housewife most of her life and enjoyed volunteering at St. Johns Methodist Church in Hamilton for 30 years. She is survived by her sons William Skelley and wife Barbara of Manchester, and Harry E. Skelley and wife Sharon of North Port, FL.; her brother Harry John Heineman of Ocean City,; and also survived by her 6 grandchildren and her 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Heineman. The family will receive friends on Monday August 3, 2015 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service, 11:00 a.m. at the Carroll Lutheran Village, Krug Chapel, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster with her chaplain the Rev. Diane L. Day officiating. Interment will be in Angel Hill Cemetery, Havre De Grace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carroll Lutheran Village. Smith, William  
William Allen Smith, 46, of Gettysburg, PA formerly of Milton, PA died unexpectedly on Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home. Born November 3, 1968 in Westminster, MD he was the son of William B. & Wanda J. (Patterson) Smith of Gettysburg. William worked for Kowalski Brothers Roofing and worked with his father on home improvements and repairs. A kind hearted and gentle soul, he loved the time he spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and eating those Maryland Crabs. In addition to his parents, William is survived by his son, William "Cole" Smith, a sister, Cheryl M. Smith, three brothers; Bradley E., Bryan W. and Brandon M. Smith, maternal grandmother, Pauline M. Patterson and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents; Bromley E. & Sara M. Smith, maternal grandfather, Donald M. Patterson, an uncle, Donald L. Patterson and a cousin, Stephen M. Herb, Jr. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 1-2 PM. Weisgerber, George Ronald  
George Ronald Weisgerber (82) of Westminster died on July 23, 2015 at his home. Born in Baltimore to George B. and Margaret A. Weisgerber. He was the husband of Martha Jean Stephens for 57 year. He was a 1951 graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute High School. Ron graduated from the School of Engineering at the University of Maryland College Park in 1956. While there he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He later earned a business degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1977. Ron joined the United States Navy in 1956 and after Officer Candidate School became a member of the Seabee Corp of Civil Engineers. He retired a Commander after 20 years of service in the Naval Reserve. In 1962 he began working for Thomas, Bennett & Hunter, Inc. in Westminster. He had a 41-year career with TBH and served as president the last 10 years, retiring in 2003. He had also served as president of the Maryland Chapter of the American Concrete Institute 1989 - 90, and the Maryland Ready Mix Concrete Association in 1981. Surviving are his three children and their spouses David Weisgerber & Maura Fisher of Frederick, Janice & Jerry Regan of New Tripoli, PA, and Susan & Michael DiPietro of Westminster. Seven grandchildren are William, John & Andrew Weisgerber, Michael & Kevin Regan, and Samuel & Margaret DiPietro. His sister Nancy Lee Lewis of Baltimore preceded him in death. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the University of Maryland College Park Foundation for the G. Ronald & Martha Weisgerber Undergraduate Scholarship Fund, 3207 Kim Engineering Building, College Park, MD 20742, or the Carroll Community College Foundation for the G.
