Agnes V. "Red" Farinholt



Agnes Virginia "Red" Farinholt, 89, of Finksburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at home.

Born June 23, 1923, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Olive M. Marshall. She was the wife of Joseph A. Farinholt, who died June 11, 2002.

She worked as a Rosie the Riveter for Koppers Company American Hammered Piston Division during World War II. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467 Ladies Auxiliary, 29th Division Association, American Legion Carroll Post No. 31 Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, dancing and playing basketball in high school.

Surviving are a daughter, Jo "Cookie" Donaldson, of Finksburg; sons and daughter-in-laws Robert and Marsha Farinholt, of Sykesville, and Joseph H. and Debra Farinholt, of Finksburg; grandchildren Cassie Liles, of Garner, N.C., Jessy Farinholt, of Laurel, John Donaldson, of Cresent City, Calf., Catherine Wellman, of Catonsville, Tyler and Ashley, both Farinholt of Finksburg; and great-grandchildren Parker, Hannah and Avery Liles, all of Garner, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Stutler officiating. Inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
