Barbara Kay Baughman Schreiber, 71, of Westminster, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Greater Baltimore Medical Center after a yearlong battle with leukemia.
Born Sept. 19, 1942, in Ashland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lena Martin Baughman and John Baughman. She was the wife of Alan H. Schreiber.
She graduated from Villa Julie in Baltimore with a paralegal degree. She worked for the Howard County government as a paralegal, which led to a position with MCI telecommunications. She became a program manager with MCI in Richardson, Texas, where she retired.
In 1995, she returned to Westminster and married her husband. She worked part-time as a concierge at Emeritus Senior Living, formerly Summerville of Westminster, where she enjoyed being involved with the residents.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Hope Anne Beene, of Gettysburg, Pa.; granddaughters Amanda Marie Kemp and husband Brandon, of Sykesville, and Brittany Anne Beene, of Westminster; a grandson, Ryan Beene, of Waynesboro, Pa.; and a brother, Paul Baughman, of Sparta, Mo.
Friends and family will be invited to a celebration of her life in early fall.
