Daniel Stocksdale Dulany, 80, of Westminster, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at home.
Born March 27, 1933, in Eldersburg, he was the son of the late William W. and Helen Bevard Dulany. He was the husband of Charlotte Shipley Dulany, his wife of 56 years.
He served in the Army during the Korean War. He had been a real estate agent for most of his life. He served in the business community, and as a civilian, in many different roles.
He was the charter president of the Freedom Jaycees, the past president of the former Eldersburg Business Association, the past president of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, and the chairman of the board of the former Woodbine Bank, which merged with the former Mercantile Bank, now PNC.
He was a third generation and life-long member of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church, in Eldersburg, and a member of Freedom Lodge No. 112 A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed collecting railroad china.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son and daughter-in-law Timothy B. and Quinn T. Dulany, of Westminster; a daughter, Jennifer Dulany Hilgartner, of Manchester, Mo.; brothers William B. Dulany, of Westminster, and Harry H. Dulany, of Timonium; grandchildren Matthew, Russell and Stephen Dulany, and Samantha and Colten Hilgartner; step-grandchildren Jennifer, Lauren, William and Jacqueline; and step-great-grandchildren Jay, Wyatt, and Ryleigh.
He was predeceased by a great-grandson, Trenton Danger Dulany; and a brother, George W. Dulany.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery in Sykesville.
