Donald Wayne Eanes, 70, of Millsboro, Del., died Friday, May 3, 2013, in Lewes, Del., from an extended illness.
Born Feb. 6, 1943, in Martinsville, Va., he was the son of Helen Custer Eanes, of Essex, and the late Edward Gross Eanes. He was the husband of Frances Ann Pleines Eanes, whom he married Dec. 28, 1963, in Essex, and with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.
He was a 1961 graduate of Kenwood High School in Essex and then served in the Army
National Guard. He was a member of several clubs over the years including the American Legion Post 14 in Hanover, Pa., and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and had a personal seat license with the Baltimore Ravens.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are daughters and son-in-law Donna M. Blum, of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Jennifer S. and Paul Hostman, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; grandchildren Robert Blum, Rachel, Jackie and Darrin; a brother, James Edward Eanes, of Essex; and many other family members.
Private services will be held at a later date.
