Dorothy Audrey Van Dyke, 89, of York, Pa., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in York.
Born Feb. 26, 1923, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Julian Ashman and the late Emily Ashman. She was the spouse of the late Eugene C. Van Dyke.
She worked at Glen L. Martin Airport during World War II and then for many years at the telephone company, where she assumed various roles and responsibilities.
She was an ovarian cancer survivor for 20 years ago. Her hobbies included crocheting, caring for pets and traveling to various countries and states with her daughter.
Surviving are daughter Julie Steeper and fiance Bruce Ulanet.
She was predeceased by an older sister and brother.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD 21784.
