Emory Pritchett Sr.



Emory Frank Pritchett Sr., 91, of Finksburg, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Golden Living Center. Born Feb 27, 1923 in Toccoa, Georgia, he was the son of the late George Grant Pritchett and Bertie Irene Walker and husband of the late Vera Ann Pritchett. Before retiring, he was a mechanic. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was Past Post Commander of VFW Post No.193, Past District Commander District No. 13 of the VFW, Life Member VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467, American Legion Carroll Post No. 31, Life Member and Past Post Commander from 1987-1991, Member of Moose Lodge No. 1381 and Life Member South Mountain Moose Legion No. 104. Survived by sons Emory Frank Pritchett Jr. and wife Rose of Baltimore, Garey Grant Pritchett and wife Deborah of Hampstead, Glen Jackson and wife Pat of Baltimore, sisters Una Mae Gomborov of Pompano Beach, Florida, Etta Ruth Payne and Betty Jean Carter, both of Toccoa Georgia, one brother Lewis Grant Pritchett of Baltimore and 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Curtis Jackson. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main St., Westminster. Friends may call from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held Friday at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
