Evelyn Margaret Boone, 102, of Manchester, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Longview Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born Dec. 23, 1909, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Frederick and Augusta Biddison Hinke. She was the wife of the late Arthur Philip Boone, Sr., who died in 1973.
She was a homemaker and a former member of the Hampstead Senior Citizens and St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was also a volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center and the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by children Evelyn Carol Hose and husband Howard, of Manchester, Arthur "Bud" Philip Boone Jr. and wife Dottie, of Manchester, and Stella May Corbett and husband Tim, of Hollywood, S.C.; grandchildren Steve Alder, Philip Boone III, Deena Ford, Dawn Strine, Ashley Freeman, Dawn C. Kennedy and Tommy Corbett; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by siblings Edward Hopwood, Edith Groves and Mildred Ruth Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Rev. Jacob Young officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Tuesday at the funeral home.
