James E. "Bud" White



James Earl "Bud" White, 77, of Eldersburg, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House, after a battle with cancer.

Born April 28, 1935, in Oakland, Carroll County, he was the son of the late James and Genevieve Snyder White. He was the husband of Carol Ann Topper White, his wife of 55 years.

He was a graduate of Sykesville High School, Class of 1953, and had served in the Army from 1957 to 1959.

He had been an electrician for most of his life. For the past few years he had worked as a maintenance supervisor with St. Martin's, Little Sisters of the Poor. He enjoyed camping and fishing with family, bluegrass music and making things.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son and daughter-in-law Michael A. and Sharon White, of Eldersburg; daughters and son-in-law Darlene T. and Ralph Hall, of New Windsor, and Denise E. Stull, of Finksburg; and grandchildren Tara, Ashley, Lindsay and Stephanie.

He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas H. White.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
