Jeffrey L. Ferguson, 55, of Orrtanna, Pa., died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore.
Born Feb. 12, 1958, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Nancy Doss and Carlton Ferguson, and the late Charlotte Doss French and Joseph French, of Gettysburg, Pa. He was the husband of Terrie Aberts Ferguson, his wife of 33 years.
He was a cow podiatrist for many years. "Feedbag," as he was known, started Put on the Feedbag Catering with his wife in 1987. He enjoyed working with his family and friends catering various events.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed hunting and wrestling. He started the Fairfield Hammerheads Youth Wrestling Team, which then filtered its way to the middle and high schools. He could be seen and heard in the stands at most matches. One of his proudest moments was watching his son Dylan receive his Pennsylvania State Wrestling Medal.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by children Candace Lynn Ferguson and fiance Kyle Miller and Dylan Lee Ferguson, all of Fairfield, Pa.; a brother, Amos Ferguson, of Taneytown; two sisters, Carolyn Jones, of Finksburg, and Brenda Stevens, of East Berlin, Pa.; a mother-in-law, Carolyn Aberts, of Taneytown; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Deb Hartlaub, and father-in-law, Tom Aberts.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Monahan Funeral Home, 27 E. Main St., Fairfield, Pa., with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
