Larry Eugene Humple Sr., 53, of Finksburg, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 27, 2013, as a result of a fall.
Born May 14, 1959, in Sykesville, he was the son of the late Walter R. Jr. and Betty Lucille Holt Humple. He was the husband of Carolyn Hubbard Humple.
He had worked as a carpenter for many years and was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in West Friendship. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Larry E. Humple Jr., of Taneytown; a daughter, Christine N. Humple, of Westminster; a stepson, John W. Miller, of Jacksonville, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Ellen May Whittemore, of Berlin; brothers Walter R. Humple III and Terry Lee Humple, both of Westminster, Milton C. Humple Sr., of Taneytown, Robert L. Humple, of South Hill, Va., and Jeffrey A. Humple, of California; sisters Diane Mae Fox, of Mount Airy, and Deborah Jean Humple, of South Hill; a half-brother, Daniel Humple, of Finksburg; five grandchildren; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by siblings Jerry Wayne Holt and Michael J. Fox; and a half-brother, Andrew Humple.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, Route 144 and McKendree Road, in West Friendship. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
