Martin Scott Bloom Sr., 49, of Finksburg, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.
Born Feb. 20, 1964, in Baltimore, he was the son of Carl Dodrer Bloom, of Finksburg, and the late Patsy Alverta Mummert Bloom. He was the fiance of Mary E. Engel.
He was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2226, and the VFW
Men's Auxiliary, Post #467, Westminster. He enjoyed upholstery work and restoring his pickup truck.
Surviving, in addition to his father and fiancee, are sons Martin Scott Bloom Jr., Christopher Michael Bloom and Tyler Carl Robert Bloom, all of Finksburg; a brother, David W. Bloom, of N.J.; maternal grandmother Alice Mummert, of Reisterstown; and niece Alicia Bloom and nephew Alex Bloom, both of Hanover, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Timothy Feaser officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
