Patsy Alverta Mummert Bloom, 73, of Palestine, W.Va., died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at home.
Born May 28, 1938, in Westminster, she was the daughter of Alice May Blizzard Mummert, of Reisterstown and the late Oswald P. Mummert. She was the former wife of Carl Bloom.
She was a graduate of Franklin High School, Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing and St. Mary's College. She worked as a registered nurse and as a supervisor at Rosewood State Hospital. In addition, she worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and as a home care nurse.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are sons David W. Bloom, of Reisterstown, and Martin S. Bloom, of Finksburg; grandchildren Martin "Scotty" Bloom Jr. and Tyler Bloom, both of Finksburg, Christopher Bloom, of Palestine, and Alicia and Alex Bloom, both of Hanover, Pa.; sisters and brothers-in-law Nancy and Galen McKenzie, of Sykesville, and Viveca and Marlin Michaels, of Manchester.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Timothy P. Feaser officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
