William C. "Buc" Battaglia



William Charles "Buc" Battaglia, 55, Belcamp, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre De Grace.

He grew up in New Windsor with the Lambert family. He graduated in 1978 from Francis Scott Key High School. From 1979 until 1985, he attended Carroll Community College, which was then a branch of Catonsville Community College. He was a certified EMT until 1993 and former member of New Windsor Volunteer Fire Company. He made a career of his favorite hobby, computer programming and repair.

He was a member of the choir at St Paul's United Methodist Church in New Windsor. He was a former member and elected officer with Littlestown Jaycees, and District Director for the Pennsylvania Jaycees in 1993.

He enjoyed playing drums at concerts and parades with the William F. Myers & Sons Band, Alesia Band, Westminster Municipal Band, and Littlestown Area Municipal Band.

He was known to surround himself with friends who welcomed him as part of their own families. His natural parents and siblings, two brothers and a sister, were separated at an early age.

Surviving are a small number of nephews and nieces in the Baltimore area.

He was a registered organ donor and The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland coordinated the process. His ashes will be brought home to Carroll County.
