Habib Rahimi Obituary
Habib Rahimi, 63, of Sykesville, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at home.
Born April 15, 1950, in Tabriz, Iran, he was the son of Khadija Rahimi, of Iran, and the late Mohammad Rahimi. He was the husband of Kim Rahimi, his wife of 33 years.
He was the owner of Habib's Kabob and Bagel Cafe in Eldersburg for 20 years. He enjoyed playing golf and always feeding his family and friends, especially at parties.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are children Layla Rahimi, of Westminster, and Samad Rahimi, of Sykesville; a sister; and a brother.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, 750 E. Pratt St., Suite 1700, Baltimore, MD 21202; or Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157-9967.

I am so profoundly saddened by Mr. Rahimi's death. While I never met him or his family, I stopped in the Bagel Cafe whenever I was in Eldersburg. I followed his medical journey and had so hoped that it would have had a different outcome. Please take comfort in the thought that so many people who never met Habib were impacted by him and his struggle. He handled it with grace and dignity. I only hope that, if faced with the same trial, I would handle it with half the strength he did. My deepest sympathies to the Rahimi family and his staff at the cafe.

Dear Kim & family,
We are very sad for your loss as well as the loss for our community as a whole! It has been a 20 year relationship~I remember how generous you two were when I organized the food for the LHS craft fair years ago-providing coffee and bagels. We are so thankful for having wonderful people like your family in our lives and always enjoyed patronizing your restaurants! Prayers for all of you during this time. Habib was truly one of our favorite people!

We're so sorry to read about Habib's passing. He was such a nice man who I know totally loved you and the kids. May God and your many friends comfort you during this terrible time. BTW, the food at the Kabob was totally awesome. We miss it since we moved to Delaware.
