Paul William Petry, 86, of Hampstead, formerly of Baltimore, died Monday, July 2, 2012.

Born June 24, 1926, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Robert Henry and Carrie Louise Disney Petry. He was the husband of Miriam H. Thomas Petry, his wife of 65 years.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in the European Theater. He was a volunteer firefighter for Baltimore City. He worked for the John Bean-May-Barrett Company and also the McCormick Spice Company.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Linda and William Murray, of Hampstead; sons and daughters-in-law Richard and Elizabeth Petry, of Reisterstown, and Thomas and Diane Petry, of Phoenix; grandchildren and spouses, Tara and James Stewart, Colleen Stambaugh, Christopher Petry, Andrew and Kimberly Petry, and William and Heather Petry; great-grandchildren Maeve Stewart, Jenna Stambaugh, and Kendall, James, Madelyn and Taylor Petry.

He was predeceased by siblings Robert Henry Petry, Mary Ruth Blunt and Anna Mae Kelly.

He donated his body to the Maryland State Anatomy Board for research. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
