Blakely Evan Long, 23, of New Windsor, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at home.

Born June 14, 1989, in Baltimore, he was the son of Charles Benjamin Long III and Janet Darlene Covell Long.

He was a 2007 graduate of South Carroll High School, where he was the varsity football manager. He had participated in the Special Olympics. He had worked at Home Depot for 2 1/2 years.

His favorite restaurants were Waffle House and Sakura. His hobbies included WWE wrestling, jigsaw puzzles, watching horror movies, carnivals, yard sales, going to the library and teasing his mom.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a grandmother, Judy Covell; a brother, Bradley Owen Long; aunts Joyce Wah, Betty Birch, Susie Conway, Barbara Clinton, Pam Covell, and Sandy Gilbert; uncles Skip Wah and Richie Covell; and cousins Tiffany Covell, Travis Brannon, and Alivia and Lane Covell.

The family will receive friends from from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery in New Windsor.
