Doris Hansbrough Obituary

Doris Nadine Hansbrough, 69, of Union Bridge, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, following an extended illness. Born July 7, 1940, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Jennings V. and Beulah V. Keefer Frock. She attended Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8806 in Union Bridge. She was employed at Borenstein's in Taneytown for many years, and later worked at, and retired from, Random House. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and the beach. Surviving are children Pamela Brown, of Union Bridge, Tina Ray, of Westminster, and Georgia Ely and husband Richard, of Hagerstown; siblings Kenneth Frock, of Shippensburg, Pa., Betty Austin and Audrey Fair, both of Taneytown, and Ruby Leese, of Westminster; grandchildren Crystal Smith, of Hampstead, Dustin Hansbrough, of Westminster, Shelby Gray, Kyle Ely, and Saige Ely, all of Hagerstown, Karen Ely, of Kentucky, and Matthew Ely, of North Carolina; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Randy Hansbrough; brothers Stanley, Verl and Paul Frock; and a sister, Alice Fairchild. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service, 1 p.m. Saturday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Doug Wantz officiating. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery in Union Bridge. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren, 26 Pipe Creek Road, Union Bridge, MD 21791. To my dear wonderful grandmother,
Memow you will be truley missed by me and your great-granddaughter's and by so many other. You was always there for me when I needed you. You taught me so mcuh in life of the years and for that I am greatful. I a will always cherish ever memory that we sharded together and will never foeget that boat ride we had together just a few years ago to see the dolphins in the ocean.
