Doris Virginia Barnes, 87, of Westminster, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Brethren Home Community in New Oxford, Pa.
Born April 3, 1926, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. Zepp and Ida McGonical Zepp. She was the wife of Joseph H. Barnes, her husband of 57 years, who died Nov. 7, 2013.
Before retiring, she worked at Yingling General Tire and Rowan Comptroller, which later became Telemechanique. She was a 1943 graduate of Westminster High School, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and former member of Lady of the Elks.
She enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and flowers.
Surviving are brother-in-law Edward F. Wicks, of Westminster, sister-in-law Patricia Humbert, of Westminster, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gene and Carol Brothers, of Westminster; nieces and nephews Robin Munch and husband Joe, John Zepp and Renee Frame, all of Littlestown, Pa., Richard Frame and wife Debbie, of Westminster, Carol Ann Alsea, of Westminster, Grace Toms, Renfred and Randolph Zepp, of Florida, Michael Wicks and wife Kathy, of Alexandria, Va., and Vickie Riley and husband Arthur, of Westminster; great-nieces and -nephews; and great-great nieces and -nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers Alvin T. and Reginald W. Zepp and a sister, Rosalie Frame.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 3939 Gamber Road, Finksburg, with the Rev. Douglas Hoffman officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery.
