Dorothy L. Lockner, 86, formerly of Taneytown, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born Sept. 1, 1925, in Rocky Ridge, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna Miller Shriner. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Lockner.
She had worked at the Cambridge Rubber Factory in Taneytown for more than 40 years, and with the Arc of Carroll County prior to retirement.
She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown, American Legion Hesson-Snider Post 120 auxiliary, and the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings Anna Lee Glass, Howard "Bud" Shriner, and Carl Shriner; and a nephew, Dennis Glass.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown; and from 1 p.m. until the time of service, 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Steven Ostendorf-Snell officiating. Interment will follow in Grace U.C.C. Cemetery in Taneytown.
