Earl Kenneth Lookingbill, age 76, of Taneytown, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at home.

Born Jan. 7, 1935 in Taneytown, he was the son of the late George & Edna Legore Lookingbill. He was the husband of Linda Bull Lookingbill.

He spent 20 years as a Baltimore County firefighter and 55 years as a volunteer with the Taneytown Fire Company. He was a life member of the Taneytown volunteer fire company and served as past-chief & past-president. He also worked for Stambaugh Excavating for 15 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a life member of AMVETS Post 172 in Fairfield, Pa. He enjoyed Friday night poker, traveling, camping and spending time with friends & family, especially his four grandsons.

Surviving, in addition to his wife are stepson, Scott Black and wife Dena, of Taneytown; stepdaughter, Norma Austin and husband, Craig, of Taneytown; sisters Charlotte Lookingbill and Dorothy Hostetter of Taneytown; grandsons Mitchell, Brenden, Dillen and Evan; and daughters, Shirley, Sharon and Tina.

He was predeceased by brothers Glen, Charles and Francis Lookingbill.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown. A firefighters' memorial service will be held 8 p.m. during the visitation at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Revs. Josh and Rachel Semovoski and Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
