Kenneth Eugene "Pop" Utz, 73, of Westminster, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born November 22, 1939, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Raymond Monroe Utz and Florence Barnes Utz. He was the husband of Lillie Utz, to whom he was married for 55 years.

Before retiring, he worked in construction. He was a social member of the VFW Molleville Farm Post #467 and the American Legion Carroll Post 31. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt and Ravens fan. He enjoyed playing Pitch with friends and mowing grass at the Thomas farm.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Brenda Nunn and companion John Milburn; daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Mike Cook, and Terri and Wally Gontarek, all of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law David and Teresa Utz, of New Oxford, Pa.; brothers Dale Utz, of Finksburg, and Larry Utz, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers John and David Utz; and a sister, Carol Allen.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
