Linda Susan Lamont, 63, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Gilchrist Hospice in Columbia.

Born Oct. 17, 1949, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Mary E. Diamond Gates and the late Bennett Marion Gates. She was the wife of John D. Lamont Sr.

She had worked for the Howard County Board of Education as a para educator at Manor Woods Elementary School. She was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran in Eldersburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family, vacationing at the beach and Sunday dinners.

Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are son and daughter-in-law Michael S. and Helen E. Lamont, of Westminster; daughter and son-in-law Lindsay M. and Hunter S. Lochte, of Baltimore; twin sister and brother-in-law Bonnie Lee and Duane J. Wright, of Marriottsville; and grandchildren Bennett M. Lamont and Matthew S. Lochte.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery in Sykesville.
