Matthew Joseph Balsamo, 27, of Baltimore, formerly of Westminster, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Born Sept. 2, 1985, in Baltimore, he was the son of Joseph and Melody West Balsamo.
He had his Associate of Arts degree in business and had also attended the University of Baltimore. He worked for CyberCore Technologies as a logistician.
He was a baseball player and was a coach with the Titans Baseball Club. He also enjoyed watching football, listening to his music, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Justin Balsamo, of Los Angeles, Calif.; twin sister Megan Cagle and husband Clint, of Manchester; a grandfather, Clark West, of Westminster; and a nephew, Logan Cagle, of Manchester.
He was predeceased by grandparents Jeanne West, and Mary and Salvatore Balsamo.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 1205 N. Main St., Hampstead, with the Rev. John Rudolph officiating. Entombment will be in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
