Raymond E. "Pappy" Amspacher, 78, of Glenville, Pa., died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at home.
Born Sept. 23, 1933, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Anna Rebecca Laughman Amspacher. He was the husband of Gladys N. Miller Amspacher, his wife of 59 years.
He was employed with P.H. Glatfelter in Spring Grove, Pa. for more than 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of
Black Rock Church of the Brethren in Glenville, and a life member of the Lineboro Volunteer Fire Company, having joined when he was 16-years-old.
His memberships also included the Hanover Eagles and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed painting, CB and Hamm radio, woodworking and hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughters Karen F. Rohrbaugh, of Glenville and Donna K. Young, of Gardners, Pa.; son Kent R. Amspacher and wife Tina, of Dover, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service, noon Tuesday at Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road, Glenville, with the Rev. Melinda Carlson officiating. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are by Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory in Hanover.
