Rhoda Louise Staley, 91, of Westminster, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born Feb. 8, 1922, in Mifflinburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Zella Atherton and Truman Roadarmel. She was the wife of Paul W. Staley, her husband of 65 years.
Before retiring, she worked for Kessler Shoe. She was a life member of the Women of the Moose
Chapter 897, American Legion Post No. 31 Ladies Auxiliary and the AARP. She was a member of Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ. She enjoyed her dog, Doodles.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter Pat Finn-Keller, of Hanover, Pa.; grandchildren Heidi Lombardi, Stephen, Kenneth and Kevin Finn, all of Hanover, Paul Finn of York, and Scott Finn, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; great-grandchildren Robin Lombardi, Justin, Stephen II, Brent, Chelsea, Alex, Marisa, Amanda, McKenna, Brooklyn and Maleena Finn, and a great-great-granddaughter, Anberlin Weaver.
She was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Hutson; a brother, Truman Roadarmel; and her first husband, William LaRay Petry, who was killed in World War II.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Monday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with the Rev. Tony Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
