Ricky Gene Harrison, 50, of Woodbine, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at home.

Born Oct. 13, 1962, in Virginia Beach, Va., he was the son of Casper "Sam" Sonifrank, of Frederick, and the late Gladys Bernice Sullivan Honeycutt.

He had been a heavy equipment sales manager. He had played for the minor league Orioles. He enjoyed coaching many sports, including football, baseball, basketball and softball for Winfield, South Carroll and Century teams. He played in local men's softball leagues. He liked spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are sons Joshua Harrison and fiancee Lacey Hook, and Benjamin Harrison, all of Woodbine; daughter and son-in-law Kasey and Michael Rankin, of Westminster; a brother, Jamie Harrison, of Frederick; a sister, Sherry Poole, of Frederick; grandchildren Kaylie and Brody Rankin; and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of the memorial service, 7 p.m. Thursday at Winfield Fire Department Social Hall, 1320 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help defray funeral costs may be sent to Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, P.O. Box 195, Sykesville, MD 21784.
