Shane Brenton Gay, 23, of Clovis, N.M., formerly of Westminster, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at home.
Born Aug. 10, 1989, in Baltimore, he was the son of Deborah Emge Forsyth, of Efland, N.C., and Frank John Gay Jr., of Hampstead.
He was a senior airman in the Air Force and had graduated from Westminster High School in 2007. He enjoyed snowboarding, golf, biking, his dogs Brownie and Hooter, and his cat Petey.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are stepparents Steve Forsyth, of Efland, and Sharon Callahan, of Hampstead; grandparents Nancy and Wayne Emge, of Delray Beach, Fla., Jane Rhodes, of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Marilyn Gay, of Ocean City; aunts and uncles James and Monica Emge, of Randallstown, Thomas Emge, of Sykesville, and Karen and John Bangs, of Westminster; cousins Joseph Letke, and Jeremy and Ryan Emge.
He was predeceased by a grandfather, Frank John Gay Sr.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m., with the Rev. Rev. Richard Shamer officiating. Interment will be private.
