Sterling A. Alban, 87, of Manchester, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at home.
Born July 6, 1925, in Greenmount, he was son of the late Earl A. and Ethel Marie Martin Alban. He was the husband of Ruth Anna Burns Alban, his wife of 55 years.
He was also a 1944 graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a degree in chemical engineering. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and was a member of the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers and Farm Bureau.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Cathy Martin and husband Wesley Sr., of Hampstead, Sterling Scott Alban and wife Joyce Ann, and Earl Eugene Alban, all of Manchester; grandchildren Wesley Martin Jr., Ashley Martin, Lisa Myers, and Bradley Alban; and a great-grandchild, Madison Myers.
He was predeceased by a brother, Martin Luther Alban.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service, noon Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery in Manchester.
