William Larry Miller, 67, of Taneytown, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 28, 2013, at home.

Born Oct. 22, 1945, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late William Arthur and Helen Elizabeth Ecker Miller. He was the husband of Genevieve A. Miller, his wife of 49 years.

He had served in the Army in Vietnam. He was employed as a machinist with Western Industrial in Hampstead.

He was a member of VFW Post 8806 in Union Bridge and Mayberry Rod and Gun Club, serving as an instructor for the Maryland Hunter Safety course. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Helen V. Wisner and husband Kenny, of Finksburg; twin sons William E. "Bill" Miller and wife Julie, of New Windsor, and James M. Miller and wife Audrea, of Littlestown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; a sister, Doris M. Buffington, of New Windsor; and brothers A. Eugene Miller, of Smallwood, and Robert B. Miller, of Westminster.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Ceary, pastor of Linwood Brethren Church, officiating. Military interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
