William "Bill" Cooke, 48, of Taneytown, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.

Born Jan. 7, 1965, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William Cooke Sr. and Rena Peacock Cooke.

He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan, and enjoyed playing horseshoes, playing his guitar, and spending time with his friends.

Surviving are many friends, including Theresa and Rodney Rill, of Taneytown, and Jeff Heiser and Melinda Merson, of Taneytown; a brother, Timmy Cooke; stepbrothers Mike and Henny Barnette; a cousin, Vernon Grimsley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by stepbrothers Terry and Steve Barnette.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from noon until time of service, 1 p.m. Thursday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Grace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Taneytown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to help the family with final expenses, c/o Theresa Rill, 102 O'Hagan Drive, Taneytown, MD 21787.
