William "Ed" Sharp, 79, of Westminster, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at home.
Born Oct. 8, 1934, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl and Willovene Sharp. He was the husband of Nancy Sharp, his wife of 51 years.
He was a Navy veteran. He worked for RCA Service Company in Cherry Hill, N.J., early in his career and then worked for the Department of Defense in Fort Meade, retiring after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of the BPOE
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Michael Sharp and wife Judi, of Mount Airy, and James Sharp, of Westminster; grandchildren Brandi Sharp, Kassidy Sharp, Ben Sharp and wife Katie, Nicholas Sharp, Jeremiah Henderson-Sharp, and Jacob Sharp; and great-grandchildren Riley, Deggan, Bentleigh, Kinley and Zander.
He was predeceased by son John Sharp and wife Tracy; and sister Jere Savage and husband Howard.
He donated his body to the Anatomy Board of Maryland.
A celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Belisimo's Restaurant, 2900 Baltimore Blvd., Finksburg.
