George William Albaugh, 76, of Emmitsburg, formerly of Union Bridge, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at home.

Born Jan. 26, 1938, in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Louise Steele Albaugh. He was the husband of Doris Lawrence Albaugh, who died in 2011.

He was formerly employed as a truck driver for 18 years with Mitchell Transport, then Pfoutz Lumber Company and Prime Manufacturing as a forklift operator.

He was a life member of the Blue Ridge Sportsman Club of Fairfield, Pa. He enjoyed hunting, crabbing and attending stock car races.

Surviving are twin brother Gaylard Albaugh and wife, Margaret, of Summerfield, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Betty Keeney Albaugh, of Waynesboro, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Clinton Crushong, of Union Bridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters Minnie Jackson and Jane Crushong; a brother, Hezekiah Albaugh; and adopted sister, Mary Louise Fringer.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Ceary, pastor of Linwood Brethren Church, officiating.
