Robert Ellsworth Cox, 63, of Westminster, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at home.
Born March 17, 1950, in Baltimore, he was the son of Robert Franklin Cox, of Rosedale, and the late Elizabeth Dorn Cox.
He was a 1968 graduate of Overlea High School and a 1972 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with a fine arts degree.
He was an artist as well as the technical director in theatre arts at McDaniel College. He did decorative painting, business murals, sculpture and paintings.
Surviving, in addition to his father, are children Graham Etaine Cox, Reilly Duncan Cox and Brennan Emmett Cox, all of Westminster; a sister, Cindy Testerman, of Rosedale; nephew and godson Robert M. Testerman and wife Dominique Helou-Testerman, of Parkville; a great-niece, Evelyn Claire Testerman, of Parkville; a great-nephew, Nicholas Michael Testerman, of Parkville; and a friend, Florence Hines.
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Cox College Education Fund, c/o Cindy Testerman, 7911 Roseland Ave., Rosedale, MD 21237.
Cremation services were provided by Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services in Westminster.
